Are you planning on bringing a pet bird into your life? Please consider the following:

"Hi! I am your new pet bird, your lifelong companion. I want you to know how important it is to have a Life Book for me and your other pet birds. What if I were to become homeless when I was 17 years old, or 47 years old, or at any age, because my previous humans passed on? At 17 I'm still only a youngster because the average life span of many parrot species ranges from 20 to 80 years with the larger species, such as Macaws and African Grey Parrots, living 50 to 80 years or longer provided, of course, we are well cared for. That means that I will surely have more than one human caregiver in my lifetime. Oh woe is me, without a Life Book how will my next owner really know who I am, my age, where I've been, what I like or dislike, what I've done or seen? If you knew all about me, you could much more easily take care of me, and I would also be able to get to know you more quickly! Please maintain a Life Book for the continuity of my care and well being. My life and your happiness may depend on it! My Life Book will be my biography and contain valuable references and wisdom for my care!"
